A wonderful, floriferous magnolia, 'Nigra' dazzles with its large purple flowers and long, dark green leaves.
With a long flowering season from late spring through summer, this magnolia (also known as a Mulan magnolia) makes for a brilliant specimen tree.
Growing to just a few metres tall, 'Nigra' is perfect for smaller gardens and can even be grown in a patio container.
A recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit, this variety has been recognised as performing particularly well in British gardens.
Fully hardy, low-maintenance and easy to grow, this magnolia deserves a starring role in any garden.
