You know what we'd like here at Roots? *Not* to have our arms shredded to pieces any time we try and pick a blackberry - that's the dream, right?
Well dream no longer, because 'Loch Maree' is a variety that produces easily accessible fruit on spineless stems, making for simple (and painless) pickings!
Unlike many trailing blackberry varieties, which require support, this plant features semi-erect stems that don't require training or support (though, of course, you still can if you want to)
The fruit, which is sweet and utterly delicious, isn't the sole star of the show as far as this variety is concerned. In early summer, stunning double, blush-pink flowers appear, giving the plant great ornamental value alongside its fruiting prowess
Fully hardy and easy to grow, this variety is a must-have for any soft fruit lover
