One of the sunniest shrubs around, St John's Wort 'Hidcote' brightens any garden with its cheery yellow blooms, seen in abundance from summer into early autumn.
Dark evergreen foliage serves as the perfect backdrop against which the luminous flowers can truly shine.
Working wonderfully both as a wildlife hedge and a standalone border plant, this variety is as versatile as it is stunning!
'Hidcote' has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
Thought by many to work as a kind of natural antidepressant, St John's Wort has purportedly been used (for various medicinal reasons) since ancient Greek times.
